Electrochemical Separation of Porous Anodic Aluminum Oxide with Thick Barrier Layers

We investigated an electrochemical separation method for anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) films possessing thicker barrier layers by electrolysis in sodium chloride (NaCl) and ethylene glycol (EG) solution subsequent fabrication of through-hole AAO membranes immersion phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 ) solution. The with different layer thicknesses were formed on the surface anodizing sulfuric, oxalic, H solutions at up to 130 V. AAO-covered specimens immersed NaCl/EG solution, then constant voltage 10 V higher than was performed from surface. Many nanoscale paths throughout alumina initial stage electrolysis, substrate electrochemically dissolved through these narrow during electrolysis.
